Fruits are great for us for so many reasons….
Fruit juices that are fresh with no additives are a great way to get these fruits into our daily diets. But, did you know that along with consuming these fruits as juices, you also have to be careful about how and when to consume them?
Juices are best consumed immediately after making. But, with our lives becoming more hectic with each passing day, consuming them fresh is often a hard-to-achieve task. Also, there are so many questions when it comes to the different aspects of juicing – like the process, storage, etc.
If healthy living is your mantra, then juices and smoothies are definitely your elixirs of life. They pack a nutritious punch and are deliciously irresistible. But, store bought juices or smoothies don’t count because they are generally loaded with artificial preservatives. And the only down side of home-made fresh juices or smoothies is that they don’t stay fresh for long and require immediate consumption.
So what do you do? Well, here are some zero-preservative ways to keep the freshness of your juices and smoothies intact for longer:
Does your diet support your CrossFit workout? When you are not eating right, even a high-intensity, heart-pumping workout will not improve your fitness prowess. If you are not making the most of your daily diet, it simply won’t get you those perfectly chiseled abs or toned body no matter how you are programming your WOD or how much you’re sweating at the gym.
Summer 2017 is just around the corner and as you plan your trips to the beach, make sure you plan on staying hydrated and don’t forget to replenish your body. As the temperatures ruse, the high often drains you of energy. But, the bright sunny days bring us a lot of colorful, juicy and delicious fruits that will not only keep you hydrated but also give you that extra kick of energy to keep you going with the extra hours of daylight! The choices of summer fruits are endless - watermelons, cherries, blueberries, strawberries, peaches, mangoes, cucumbers, lemon, tomatoes, oranges, papayas, cantaloupes… the list is endless!
The whole point of juicing is to reap the benefits that come with the freshness and goodness of the luscious fruits and veggies that are simply the best for our mind, body, and soul. But what’s the point of juicing, if the glorious liquids don’t maintain their freshness and keep their nutritional value intact. You absolutely must make sure your juices stay optimal in their nutritional value while keeping their taste at their yummiest levels. Want to know how?
